12-Steps to Waterproofing your Basement
Note: The basement waterproofing diy kit has detailed directions for the wet basements that are beyond the normal wet basement.1. Move items away from basement walls 4' - 5' to give enough working room. Sweep down basement walls for cobwebs or any loose dirt on wall & sweep up floor.

2. Clean floor with drill cleaning abrasive wheels in the DIY waterproofing kit. A special cleaning tool may be necessary for floor tile adhesive or carpet glue.
At the base of block wall drill holes in the blocks to allow trapped basement water out of the blocks.

3. Prepare and clean-up end stop area and prepare stop leak method for cracks in the floor to prevent water from running out under the basement waterproofing system,

4. Prepare discharge line into sump pump - different methods in finished or unfinished areas of the basement, consult waterproofing diy kit directions.

5. Using clean water, wash and vacuum basement floor three or more times to assure floor is clean enough. Test with fingers that all fine sediment is gone. Note: The waterproofing system will perform only as well as your cleaning and preparing of the job.

6. Lay out basement waterproofing system where you will be installing basement system. Butt unit to obstacles in path such as pipes and prepare to skirt around them. Lay out unit and miter around corners. 7. Wipe the waterproofing systems bottom and ends with acetone or lacquer thinner. Lean waterproofing system against basement wall in area to be installed and waterproofed. By cleaning the waterproofing system assures a water tight waterproofing bond to the basement floor.

8. Apply adhesive to bottom of the waterproofing system or to the floor and install the waterproofing system as per kit directions. Refer to, do it yourself waterproofing kit directions when installing in wet basement conditions.

9. Install only 2-3 basement waterproofing system sections at a time then cut adhesive and fill in areas short of adhesive, then install joint connectors & corners. Wipe off unwanted places of adhesive on waterproofing system with cleaning pad.

10. Our adhesive is super sticky, so spray adhesive smoother on cut & trimmed adhesive along basement floor and unit, joint connectors, corners, fingers and then smooth waterproofing system for that professional touch.
